We are pleased to notify you that the JFA, in partnership with Altair Directors, will be holding a Masterclass on 1 July 2026 at the Royal Yacht, St Helier, commencing at 8.00 am for an 8:30 am start.

Following interest received from the JFA members, we are looking to continue the ‘Role of the Director’ Masterclass series as held in previous years.  This will be a practical session which aims to put you in the shoes of a Director on a Jersey Fund board, facing real-life scenarios.

The subject matter will include:

Part 1 – Case Study Reviews: Difficult Director Decisions

We are pleased to be able to partner with Altair Directors for this Masterclass session and in doing so, we’re looking to mix it up from the traditional presentational format.

Attendees will break out into small groups, where they will need to consider two case study scenarios:

• An investment proposal akin to those that could be presented at a meeting of a Jersey Fund, where the investment is commercially attractive, but sits in the legal, regulatory and governance grey area
• An investor admission, which would be pivotal to the Fund’s capital raising targets but…with sanctioned connections.

Part 2 – Presentation: AI In the Board Room

We are delighted to be partnering with Altair Technology for this part of the session. Ali Richomme will present on AI in the Boardroom.

The session is built around two core themes:

• Reading AI-influenced information – AI is already shaping what lands in your board pack, yet you're rarely told where. We'll look at how to spot it, challenge it, and ask who's accountable if it’s wrong.
• Using AI yourself, safely – from digesting board packs to stress-testing proposals, we'll show how AI can make you a sharper director, alongside a practical prompting framework and the non-negotiables for keeping your data safe.

Expect live polling, open discussion, and one powerful question to take into your very next board meeting.

Part 3 – The Panel: AI in (and around) the Board Room

Hosted by Seb Lawson of Spark AI, the panel will look to cover the following:

• Live poll results – unpacking the audience responses and what the data tells us about how directors/boards are really engaging with AI
• AI & Legal Discoverability
• AI Director / Boardroom AI – what a board would (and wouldn’t) delegate
